One of my very very very favorite bands is no more. Well, not really, but The Darkness is continuing without singer Justin Hawkins, who is suffering from cocaine addiction and anorexia. But seriously, who isn’t? There may as well be no band then. Their first album was fucking unbelievable, and I thought they would be the saviors that brought back metal and hair bands. No one liked their second album, but I really enoyed it. One of my best memories from nyc was cutting a grad school class to see their in-store appearance at the Virgin Megastore (I had my priorities.)As tribute, here are some of their best tracks from both albums. I must say I fell in love when I was in London and I watched a bunch of drunk Australians dancing to “love is only a feeling” in the living room of crack house. AND THE video with the giant muppet thing is amazing.
