Can you get any cooler than a punk band with an organ? I had been wanting to see this Murder City Devils documentary for ages. This band is the kind of band that makes me want to be in a band. The MCDs weren’t hugely successful outside of Seattle, and the documentary shows the mundane aspects of being in a band, but that is what makes it interesting. You never really know the nitty gritty details of being in a band for a living. Their live performances are unbelieveable. Just a fun fact, some of the former members are now in the equally awesome band, Pretty Girls Make Graves. This is one of several awesome music documentaries. Other that are essential viewing are:
- 1991: The Year Punk Broke (chronicles the Sonic Youth Tour and the rise of grunge)
- Dig! I talk about this one all the time
- End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones
- Nirvana: Live! Tonight! Sold Out!
- Fugazi: Instrument
